About the Film
After the death of her mother, a young woman known only as Babydoll (Emily Browning) is institutionalized by her abusive stepfather. Facing a scheduled lobotomy in just five days, she retreats into elaborate fantasy worlds where she and four fellow patients become fierce warriors on a mission to collect the items they need to escape.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Sucker Punch is an ambitious mashup of genres β part psychological thriller, part action spectacle, part music video fever dream. Featuring elaborate set pieces that span feudal Japan, WWI trenches, and sci-fi battlefields, the film pushes visual storytelling to its most extreme, backed by a pulsing soundtrack of reimagined pop classics.
