About the Film
Set in a dystopian future where humans are genetically engineered to stop aging at 25, and time has replaced money as the universal currency. Will Salas (Justin Timberlake), a factory worker living day-to-day in the ghetto, is gifted over a century by a wealthy man who has grown tired of living. Accused of murder, Will goes on the run with a hostage-turned-ally Sylvia Weis (Amanda Seyfried), daughter of the wealthiest man alive.
Written and directed by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, The Truman Show), In Time builds a fascinating socioeconomic allegory where the gap between rich and poor is measured in literal lifespans. The film transforms abstract concepts of economic inequality into visceral, ticking-clock tension.
